Maria is a very talented artist who shares her style for creating mandala pebble art in this kit. The kit includes a 63 page small book with a step-by-step demo of creating a mandala inspired by Mehndi design. The book includes gorgeous photography of Maria's pebble art that will give you ideas and tips for creating mandalas with white, gold, and colored variations. I've admired Maria's pebble art for years and her kits gives you a few things to get started making them using her favorite tools (4 metal calligraphy/drawing nibs with a wooden holder) and a couple of pebbles. The two pebbles in my kit were smooth and flat, perfect surfaces for drawing. It would have been helpful to have had some white and black inks included in this kit so you could get started right out of the box. This was a decision of the publisher and I hope they consider in future kits making them more complete. There are many tools and supplies one can use to create mandala art and this kit will get you started making your own.
Strange choices for the kit. Two uninspiring stones, cheep dip pen and nibs. Black and White marker pen would have been more useful. The book is sweet and inspiring and I would have like even more of it.
While I absolutely love the artwork of the author I was disappointed in this. A lot of nice packaging but it was more of a 'kit' than something more substantial. Two little stones, a wooden pen holder and basically a booklet of designs. The designs are exquisite and maybe the price is worth having that to learn from but I'm not sure
It would have been nice to have a sample of the paint/ink included. The rocks are very small but they are nice and smooth.
I got this for a friend who loves rocks and mandalas and she loved it but it doesn't come with ink so I felt bad that I gave her everything- instructions,pen,rock but no ink. It probably says that but I didn't realize it doesn't have everything you need. the rocks were nice though
Very disappointing. Nothing of value in this book other that a couple of pages of how to draw a mandala if you never have. I have used sharpies to make these with a better effect.
What a gigantic waste of money!! You get two black rocks that are irregular, pitted and not suited for this (probably came out of a bag of landscaping rock from Home Depot), a book with about 6 pages of poorly done illustrations on how to create a mandala and the remaining 36 pages is fluff. Then you get a cheap wooden holder for the calligraphy drawing tips. My stupidity for not reading the details because one would think that for that price it would be worthwhile. Nope.- 2 large river stones- 4 metal calligraphy/drawing tips- wooden holder for the metal drawing tips
learned a lot from this book Thank you now have more ideas to paint., got my book faster than listed.
