I truly wish I had been able to read this book 10 years ago, it would have changed my life - my bone density, my well being and my post menopausal health. Dr. Seibel has written a momentous book for women - the best and apparently only resource for understanding hormones and the role hormones play in women's heart, breast, bone and mental well being. Hormone replacement decisions have been and continue to be made by women and their doctors with decades old inaccurate medical information. This is a tragedy for menopausal women of today who are vibrant, healthy, active and focused on making the most of their lives after menopause. Dr. Seibel provides clear explanations and analyses of the anxieties and fears connected to hormone replacement use. His extensive experience and insight provides the basis for the very critical decisions every woman needs to make regarding her health and future after menopause. I urge you to read Dr. Siebel's book. Whatever you decide, you will have invested in knowing the latest and best information in a timely way. I wish I had known during my estrogen window.

I am 47 and I am in peri-menopause. I can connect with sooo many of the symptoms already! I think this is a good read for all women so you know what to expect or look for when you enter this stage of life. Educate yourself so that you can make better informed decisions about your body and your long term health.There is a lot of repetition in the beginning of the book, but hang in there. Also have a highlighter ready so you can easily refer back to those things that apply to you.

Excellent book for really understanding menopause and what exactly happens with hormones . Every doctor should have a copy and be able to explain it to women. I had to figure out my own symptoms and fix with hormone replacement pellets . Shameful lack of knowledge by doctors even gynecologists. This book really helped in my decision with taking or not taking an estrogen/progesterone supplement. Especially since there can be a lot of controversy (these days) with the reality of menopause.I also found it hard finding literature and/or an (in-network) specialist in the medical industry that works with older women and menopause and this book really helped directing me in my search.

after reading the third book. The first two were good; the concept was excellent and the characters had room to develop well. But the third book just... didn't go anywhere and I found myself impatiently skipping through bits of the desert battles because it just didn't do anything for the story line. Worse, the characters didn't develop further and some stayed at a critical two dimensional stage that disappointed. I'd like to hope this does not become another Wheel of Time styled tale. The storyline isn't strong enough to hold it. All said and done though, the first two books in the trilogy were great. Just a shame the reverse was true for the third.

Thrilling storyline, great characters, awesome world building. The first 2 books are top notch. Unfortunately, the third book falls a little flat. It's still an awesome series. I just hope book 4 lives up to books one and two.

The prose in this novel is beautifully written. It paints stunning images that kept me reading the way an artsy film will keep me watching, even if I'm not enjoying everything about it. The premise was really interesting, and it's the reason I bought the book in the first place, but the characters could've used more development. They didn't have any quirks or habits or personality traits that really stood out and made them feel real to me. As a result, they felt like the flat felt board cut-outs that I used to use to tell stories with my children. They were merely puppets used to tell the story, not people living the story. Even so, I still enjoyed the book overall, and I will eventually read the next in the series because I already own it.

A fun, easy to read series and great time killer. Characters are mostly 2 dimensional archetypes with the occasional bit of angst over their uncanny Landkist powers thrown in to keep them "human". And, while character development takes on a ponderous, some times boring pace, what really impressed me, is this cat can write fight and battle scenes like no one else I've read. Seriously fantastic in this regard. And, the adventure, while fairly standard, is one I've enjoyed taking.However, the author suffers from a tic -- his characters do a lot of spitting, eye colour staring "his amber coloured eyes stared into the distance", and smiling -- while an exaggeration (slight), but of a 1,500ish page book, removing a every third time a character does one of those three would drop the page count 300 pages and be no less descriptive.If you're looking for a long but light read with some very well described fight and battle scenes, this is your series.

I enjoyed the first book, but the second was way too wordy and extremely slow to develop. I bought all 3 books, but I got so bored I couldn't finish the second, so I never read the third. It was like the author was just trying to fill the pages for

About the Author

Stephen Coates was born in Sheffield in 1960. Son of a draughtsman, he was introduced to drawing at a very young age. He excelled in art at school but chose a career in retail, working first in the music industry for 16 years followed by another 16 years running his own catering business.Largely self taught, Stephen specialised in watercolours and over a period of around twenty years, developed his own style and unique brand of teaching in his spare time. In 2011 he traded his sandwich business for a career in art and teaching. He became a full time professional freelance artist and set up his own studio in Sheffield with a purpose designed teaching facility. He runs courses, workshops and hosts his own amateur art groups. He also demonstrates his skills and shares his expertise at art societies all over England.Stephen's successful teaching business inspired him to write and compile a watercolour teaching manual. He wanted to bring the excitement of his live teaching into the pages of a book so that students could truly experience the learning process in a vivid and lifelike way in the comfort of their own homes.Stephen exhibits at a variety of art shows and loves to share his experiences with people.
